SIX SCHOOL DAYS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, Thursday, Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday! And that my friends
is it! I will officially be done with Hygiene school! Don't get me wrong....On May 4th I have my final clinical state board (MINOR stressor!)......BUT - That is it! I am so excited I can't stand it! These last few days are going to be rather stressful - because I have numerous group meetings, projects, and presentations - but I just keep telling myself 6 more school days!! I guess part of me never thought school would end! It is a strange feeling and Im not sure when it will kick in that school is over- Im still dumbfounded we only have 6 days of class and clinic left!

This is one of my many favorite quotes from the move Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium -Yes - I am posting about this movie - Don't make fun of it! If you have not seen this movie - might I suggest it! Yes your kids will love and I would be willing to say adults will like it too! It is super random and strange but it has some cool little life lessons and quotes in it! Dustin Hoffman is awesome in this movie - he becomes very endearing! One of my favorite parts of the movie is when Mr. Magorium and Mahoney are in a clock shop and they have set all the clocks to go off at one time - Mahoney says... we have 37 seconds...now we wait...Mr. M then says...No - we breath, we pulse, we regenerate, our hearts beat, our minds create, our souls ingest...37 seconds well used is like a life time. Now maybe I got too into this movie - but I loved the underlying message of living life to the fullest and loving it by not taking it for granted and using our talents and rising to our life/occasion!

BOARDS

So I guess it would only be appropriate to post about the INCREDIBLY stress filled week I had last week! Last Tuesday I took the National Boards for dental hygiene - FUN FUN!! FALSE!! It is just a small 350 question test given for 8 hours! GROSS!! Needless to say - I was a squeak stressed about it....And the kicker of the whole thing was that I will not know how I did on the test for 4 to 6 weeks!! If that is not torture - I am not really sure what is (beside taking it I guess) But luckily I survived and I felt pretty good about it - hopefully I am not eating my words next month! It was absolutely draining and Ifelt brain dead until about Tuesday of this week! It was so hard to go back to school the next day and try to function - BUT I did it! I felt very blessed for all the support, encouragement and prayers I had - I could not have done it without everyone's help! I am just SUPER glad that it is over and now I have 4 weeks of school left! WOOHOO!!!!!!!

The BEST smell in the world!

Next to Christmas - I would have to say this is the most wonderful time of the year! It is one of my favorite times of year....ORANGE BLOSSOM time!! I look foward to March and smelling this incredible smell! I would say I am borderline obsessed with the smell - It is very likely that you could catch me driving down Val Vista-ish area with my windows down deep breathing for several minutes! I can't get enough of that smell! I wish there was a way to have the scent year round! Orange blossoms are probably one of my top ten favorite things in life!

This would be a display of the best part of hygiene school! These girls have become a huge part of my everyday life! Not only do we see each other 8+ hours a day - but we have survived the hygiene drama! Lobby day, homeless shelter, CRAZY patients, INSANE teachers, SEVERE stress with boards - tests - and group projects, and list could go on! But these are also the girls that make me laugh, put up with my shananigans, enjoy taco Wednesdays, go out to vent after class, allow me and Katie to be sober sisters, love when we order diet with lime, Love to CTR, know what suave means to me, and share in the HIU talk...and again the list could go on and on and on. But I was just thinking about how I sometimes feel detached from my fam, my other friends and the normal non hygiene world - and that can be hard! But the HIU crew - keeps me going! Thanks girls!

Last weekend (after the lovely 3 day national board review) Me and my Dad (the other picture - that would be Ted/Dad) stayed to together in Cali - and stayed on the Queen Mary! (Or as my Dad said we stayed with the queen in a room with two beds and a porthole) My Dad is a funny guy - we got quite a few kicks out of the porthole thing! So to drop the porthole talk...The Queen Mary would be the large cruise ship in the picture...It was used during World War II and then docked in Long Beach 40 years ago! And for any of you that know about the ship or watch the Discovery Channel...know that it is supposedly HAUNTED!! Anyway - the ship is huge and kinda creepy BUT super cool!! We ate at a cool restaurant on the ship for dinner and I tried Lobster for the first time And I liked it (but as usual the texture got the best of me!) On Monday we went on a whale watching cruise - sadly we did not get to see whales - but we did see hundreds of dolphins at once! It was so amazing! I have never seen SO many dolphins at once - They were EVERYWHERE! The captain said that they estimated it was a pod of about 1000 dolphins. (I will post dolphin pics when my Dad sends them to me) It was one of the coolest things Ive ever seen. Anyway the Queen Mary and the Dolphin Cruise were a FABULOUS ending to a long not so fun weekend! THANK YOU DAD!!
